Grady-isms to Remember

This morning Grady and I had somewhere to be at a specific time so of course we had a thirty minute standoff over pants that resulted in tears (for both of us) and raw feelings all day. This morning was very much one of those "I love you but I don't like you very much right now" moments that are fortunately rare in our family. They don't happen often but they're discombobulating when they do. I spent a frustrating thirty minutes thinking I was doing everything wrong and I'm a bad parent and my kid is doing everything wrong and why is everything so terrible?

I spent the rest of the day loving my tenacious little threenager and paying attention to all the awesome stuff he does do (even if he thinks pants are for suckers). So! Grady-isms that warmed my heart today and I want to remember forever:

"Salami" instead of slimy. As in "watch out for the salami side, I put it in my mouth."

"Got-for" instead of forgot. This one has been around for a while and I am definitely going to be sad when it disappears.

"Bango" for mango. I don't know where this one came from but it is awesome.

Today was trying but it reminded me that it doesn't matter if you think someone is acting like a loon, their feelings are valid because they're their feelings. And sometimes feelings about pants are very strong feelings.
