My cancer has been classified as stage 3. T3 N0 MX to be exact.
As far as stage 3 thyroid cancer goes, T3 N0 MX is the second least scary option. And stage 3 thyroid cancer is still very treatable and in some ways less scary than some stage 1 cancers in other parts of the body.
The situation is not dire, is what I'm saying.
I still very much want to ear-punch everyone who tells me that thyroid cancer is the good cancer to have but at the same time, I'm clinging to those words.
I'm still waiting for my referral to the BC Cancer Agency to be processed. In the meantime, I'll be working with my endocrinologist to find the perfect dose of synthetic thyroid hormone so that I don't feel like a walking, talking corpse.
These next few months are going to be a struggle but I'm surrounded by good, supportive people. I'm scared and I'm frustrated but I'm also really sure that everything is going to turn out okay.
