It’s a brand new year and I’m making plans. I’ve got a list of not-quite resolutions, goal-type things I want to do or learn about in 2023 and I’m posting here for personal accountability. Maybe I’ll write more about them individually in more detail or maybe I’ll never speak publicly of them again; I genuinely do not know where this is heading.
In no particular order, here is my list of 23 for 2023:
Before engaging, ruminating, participating, reacting, safekeeping, etc., ask myself: “is this mine to hold?”
Family summer trip! Sibs & Nibs & Grandparents.
Celebrate 10-year cancerversary in May.
Learn how to pose non-awkwardly in photos.
Find joy in writing again.
Aggressively pursue body neutrality.
Learn how to do eye makeup.
Host monthly dip dinner.
Organize bedroom closets.
Make hot sauce from scratch.
Get resume up to date and in good shape.
Grow tomatoes.
Continue to exercise in ways that feel good.
Streamline digital storage.
Learn how to use LinkedIn and use it consistently.
Bake brioche.
Learn how to invest less passively.
Create instead of consume / consume content more intentionally.
Learn about cycle syncing.
Make a will.
Send at least one personal card / letter per month.
Use it or lose it: kitchen edition. Clean out the cupboards and get rid of things that aren’t being used regularly or purposefully.
Read at least one book on the following topics:
women’s health
orchid / dandelion children
personal finances
tween / teen brain development
leadership
grief
And because I love reflection and intention, my word / theme for 2023 will be: ground.
Are you a New Year’s resolutions type of person? What are your goals for 2023?
