Friday Faff

It's Friday! Time to faff.

It's September which means it's time to start thinking about agendas and organization and structure and big plans to finish off the year with a bang. I've been an Erin Condren fan for years, ever since I bought my first LifePlanner. Real talk: I am not being paid to say good stuff about the Erin Condren LifePlanner, I just love it to bits. However, if you use this link to make a purchase, you'll get a $10 discount and I'll get $10 in store credit. Which is kind of brilliant if you think about it. You can trust I truly love the product because why would I recommend people buy it if I didn't? I wouldn't want store credit to a store I didn't love, yeah? Anyway. I love the Life Planner because I like to look at my whole week at one time. I love that there is lots of room to jot notes on the side and bottom of the pages (sometimes I want to list things I want to accomplish during a certain week but don't want to schedule on a specific day). I love how fun and colourful it is. Love the tabs, love the pockets, love the stickers. There is a whole lot of love in my heart for my LifePlanner is what I'm saying.

So! Use if you're in the market for a new planner, I highly suggest you check out the Erin Condren LifePlanner. Use this code to get $10 off your Erin Condren purchase and I'll get $10 in Erin Condren store credit. Win win!

Grady has become a frustratingly picky eater so I found this article interesting. Shawn and I have been talking recently about how to introduce more foods to Grady's diet without giving him permanent food issues and this has given me the push I need to start trying. Tips and tricks are welcome if you've ever dealt with a picky eater (and are totally not welcome if you have no experience with picky eating but want to explain parenting to me #sorrynotsorry.)

My friend, Lisa, wrote "Eight totally not valid excuses for not getting mental health help" and if you have two minutes to spare I think you should pop over there to read it. Lisa is smart and hilarious and her words are full of honesty and love.

September is Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month so thyroids have been getting a bit more coverage than usual. This article does a good job of describing how thyroid patients can sometimes feel like they are silenced by the "good cancer" aspect of thyroid cancer.

Do you use dry shampoo? Do you use it correctly? I wasn't but I will now! Related: what dry shampoo do you use? Do you love it? Hate it? I haven't found one I really LOVE love yet.

How are you faffing this Friday?

Friday Faff

Forgive me, I'm feeling a bit faffy today so I thought I'd share the bits and bobs that kept me entertained or got me thinking this week.

My friend Katelin is rocking a 2-piece bathing suit and loving her postpartum body and it's making me love her even more than I already did.

I have a giant crush on Ash at The Middle Finger Project. "Ultimately it’s my hope that we can all learn how to depend on something like email more as a business tool—and less as the default way we communicate with other humans. Because email isn’t meaningful. And more and more, all it feels like is another heavy-hearted item being put on a never-ending to-do list that even the most disciplined, the most productive, the most well-intentioned person cannot manage."

I asked my Facebook friends for sangria recipes and ended up with about 87 recipes to try (and try them I will! Because #science). This sparkling grapefruit sangria in particular sounds amazing.

Listen. I understand how it looks to talk about productivity when I'm just faffing about but Kris Carr makes some great points here.

This. Just This. "In a shocking discovery, information has surfaced proving that every person has a unique set of circumstances that determine, on an individual basis, what is right for said person and his or her family."
