Friday Faff

Last week's faff was so fun I thought I'd do it again. You need something to distract yourself from work anyway, right?

Last week I read a couple pieces on vocal fry and the "justs" and the "umms" and I cringed because I'm guilty of all of it at times. And then I read this and felt much better.

tl;dr: "Speak so that those who hear you wonder aloud and say, 'Surely this speaker is a man. Or a grizzly bear who has swallowed a man whole.'"

This blueberry cake is on my list to be made this weekend if my kitchen ever cools off enough to turn on the oven without melting.

I love Shawna's post on wearing clothes versus wearing an outfit. This is something I really struggle with and wish I found easier. Anyone feel like tacking my closet and telling me what to wear and how to wear it?

I haven't coloured my hair since before I was diagnosed with cancer. I used to have fun with colour but I started getting really anxious about the different products I was putting in and on my body after my diagnosis. I have a hard time liking my hair. It's different after cancer. It's finally to the point where it's healthy enough to actually grow but I've got a lot more grey these days. I'm not opposed to grey but I don't like how patch it is. This is a really longwinded way of saying that I've booked a cut and colour appointment for two weeks from now and I need some ideas. What would you do to my hair? I don't want to lose a lot of length because I like having it up when I ride my bike. And I'd like something that's pretty low on the maintenance spectrum. Give me your suggestions (please)!
