We moved into our house almost a year ago. We turned our spare bedroom into a sort of tv / music room. It was where we went to relax. Except for the closet. The closet was where we've dumped every single thing that didn't have a home. The closet became a safety hazard.
Shawn's birthday was on Friday. He's the worst person to buy presents for because he doesn't like to have a lot of stuff. So I decided to clean out the hazard closet as his birthday present. It took four hours. In the end I had a giant garbage bag, a box full of recycling, two big boxes of items to be donated, and six empty boxes. And many smug feelings because look at our beautiful closet!
It might not look like a lot but I emptied every box and every drawer to purge, sort, and organize. The drawers used to be stuffed full in a haphazard manner, no logic or organization at all. Now they're sorted by item and everything makes sense and my world feels a little bit brighter.
